Yeah I would have preferred if Animal Crossing stuck to its original design philosophy instead of becoming just a dollhouse. But a high quality dollhouse has its own value, too.

Funny how I stopped playing Final Fantasy XI 15 years ago because I didn’t like the addition of Abyssea, and now all this time and restructuring later you still have to go to Abyssea and it still sucks ass.

I’m sure Expedition 33 has a lot of good points but you have to understand that “we took turn based combat and added timing requirements” is like my biggest RPG red flag ever for developers who think they like RPGs but really just like the memory of playing FF6 when they were ten.

So many complaints about adaptations boil down to “they didn’t translate it the way it looked in my head” and then when you try and explain that to them you realize they can only visualize that one version and can’t see the original objectively and how others could see it differently.
