It was great to be at today’s Youth Forum. This event celebrates the incredible work of young people across Ottawa. For the past year, 17 youth facilitators have been leading conversations in their own communities.

There’s nothing more important than keeping our young people safe. I pledged to end youth homelessness in Ottawa by 2030 and it was fantastic to welcome Algonquin College Community and Justice Services students to City Hall, who are helping with that pledge.

We’ve set an ambitious goal of ending youth homelessness in Ottawa. It was so inspiring and impressive to see more than 160 students at University of Ottawa put their talents and energy into developing innovative projects that will help us achieve that goal.

It was a magical evening at the Aurora Ball in support of the Ottawa Cancer Foundation. Incredible to see so many community leaders and generous people come together to support the vital support the Foundation provides to families as they navigate their toughest moments.

Such a memorable moment meeting the iconic Blue Rodeo backstage as Canada Post Corporation’s CEO presented them with the collector’s book featuring their new stamp. A real honour to help celebrate 40 years of unforgettable music from a band that has meant so much to so many of us.

Dropped in at the Stittsville Christmas Market and the St Elizabeth Church Christmas Bazaar. The vendors outdid themselves once again with handmade goods and unique treats. Great local options for this holiday season.

It was great to be out at the Kanata Santa Claus Parade with Councillors Allan Hubley, Cathy Curry, and MP @jennasudds.bsky.social. It was fun to see so many neighbours and families along the route with Ginny. A huge thank you to the organizers and volunteers for a fantastic parade.

It was great to welcome so many festival organizers to the Ottawa Festival Summit at City Hall. We celebrated the growth of Ottawa’s festival scene, recognized the challenges organizers are facing, and introduced the Major Festivals Fund — a $1-million annual boost to support Ottawa’s festivals.
