We are sending people for indefinite detention without trial at a foreign gulag because they have tattoos about soccer teams and about loving their mothers.
I want you to understand this is happening in our name and we know most of these men committed no crimes. One is a professional soccer player who was tortured in Venezuela and was working through asylum in the U.S. ICE shipped him for his Real Madrid tattoo and a picture throwing rock & roll horns.

Tonight an unbelievable **34,000 people** gathered for our Denver rally to take on billionaires and win our country back.

This was the largest political gathering in Denver since Obama in 2008.

Also bigger than the 2024 DNC.

And the largest ever rally in Bernie’s career (and obviously, mine too).

It’s about having red hair and freckles FFS and how to be cool with that when other kids make fun of it. By that twisted logic, you’d have to ban pretty much every children’s book, old and new www.cnn.com/2025/02/17/e...

Oscar winner Julianne Moore claims her children’s book “Freckleface Strawberry” was banned by the Department of Defense’s Education Activity, a global network of 160 schools serving military families.

This is awful. The Trump administration is making it legal for US firms to bribe foreign governments. (Prohibiting such practices was a benefit to US firms rather than a drag bc they could credibly tell foreign governments they couldn’t bribe, which saved them money!)
By the way, don't ignore the other news of a pause in the FCPA. That's a big one, too.

Why? US firm competitiveness is US security.

Ann Telnaes, Pulitzer-winning cartoonist for the Washington Post since 2008, quit the paper this week after her editor killed this cartoon.

I strongly urge you read Tim Snyder's book "On Tyranny"; in particular, the chapter on anticipatory obedience.

150 billionaire families spent $1.9B on the 2024 election through October.

It's a huge amount of money — but it represents just 0.07% of their overall wealth.

It essentially costs them nothing to drown our democracy in cash.

We must get big money out of our politics.

I strongly recommend reading "Saving Capitalism".
For 50 years, the median wage of hourly workers stagnated or declined while the stock market and CEO pay skyrocketed.

Is it any wonder why so many feel abandoned by the system? People lose faith, and a demagogue fills the void.

This is why we must fix the system.

From @rbreich.bsky.social substack:
"Matt Gaetz as AG would be laughable if it weren’t so horrific and dangerous. The nomination is really Trump’s loyalty test of Senate Republicans: If they go along, there’s nothing they won’t agree to."
