Recovering ultimate player. Active ultimate organiser, rules nerd & official. Tells computers what to do for a living, sometimes they even obey. More obsessed/terrified by the climate crisis every day.
So bad at his job even resigning was timed terribly and wasted any potential benefit.

Right, well that's Samsung being boycotted for this split screen advert bullshit.

And if ITV want to do something like that in the future, they should probably, I dunno, practice first? That was jerky and awkward, the sound didn't sync for a second after the video. Just unprofessional as well.

If anyone knows how to watch any of the Winter Olympics (but particularly curling) that doesn't involve team GB id appreciate it. Much love for the BBC, but seeing on the schedule there are live events happening now but I can't watch them is very annoying!!

A lot of political journalists seem to be back in their "govt in shambles, PM on their way out" comfort zones and you can almost hear the sighs of relief through the screen.

Absolutely hilarious to me that McSweeney could see the Starmer ship sinking, knew enough to smash Raynor down to pave the way for Streeting, but didn't see the asteroid that was Mandleson hovering above them all.

My family is asking & struggling to grasp why Mandleson kept coming back even after many scandals. Why people kept reaching out to Epstein even after the arrest.

They had *contacts*. They had a *network*. That link up could make you money, and people ignore anything if doing so earns them money.

First time playing ultimate since winning masters nationals last year, lovely little warm up before trials tomorrow :)

WHAT YEAR IS IT???

(this is definitely a unique joke no one else has made)

After painstaking deliberation, we have now decided on dates and location for the kids first international holiday.

Now just to fight through sorting flights, car hire and accommodation without constantly feeling like I'm being screwed over in ways I won't find out about for months.

Pet peeve: putting moisturisers/lotions next to the soap.

I get why you might want a moisturiser in a bathroom. I do *not* get why you want it to look identical to a soap and confuse guests into attempting to wash their hands with it.

At least make it look obviously different and not-soap-like.

Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

11 tries against the team ranked 10 in the world is just bonkers. It's so hard to overstate just how dominant the Red Roses are. 69-7!

And this team are still so pissed they lost 1 game in the last 70 or so all they'll think about is how they could have scored more.

I see the posts saying "Labour shouldn't be trying to placate Reform voters who will never vote for them anyway", and I sympathise, but...

Do you seriously think they came up with this in 5 days? These were *always* their plans. They've always been like this, now they just have an excuse.

It's anecdotal, but I know a *lot* of semi-informed voters who, at the last election, genuinely believed that removing the two child benefit cap was in the Labour manifesto. In 2029 when they next pay attention, they're going to be peeved if it's still in place.

it feels almost indecent to say this since the primary reason for removing children from poverty is simply removing children from poverty. but it is really well established fact that child poverty is extremely expensive in the long term and this policy costs money.

Also, this is essentially the *only* policy where I think we can say with 100 per cent certainty, regardless of what else is happening by 2029, it *will* be a problem for Labour if the two-child limit is still in place.
If your best argument against doing something is polling, then you have no argument.

Oh joy, America is waking up and doing April Fools jokes just when it's been long enough since 12pm that I'd let my guard down :/

World Book Day was easy and fun today. We got a hand-me-down parcel of a bunch of dressing up costumes, and I'm currently reading a chapter of a Narnia book to the 5 year old every evening (on the last chapter of Prince Caspian tonight) so he slapped on the knight costume and he's High King Peter :)

Ooh, Code 8 over the tannoy on the underground. Pretty sure that's a fire alarm?

Seeing a lot of "this is the day America gave up leadership of the free world" type comments and, um, guys? You gave that up weeks ago, did you not notice?

I've used the "it's the early 1900s again, there are 3 world powers left and they're running out of land to grab" example to try to explain the current geopolitical situation before, and it's becoming scarily accurate

I would like all the signs and portents to stop implying England will beat Scotland tomorrow. Keep tempting fate like this and 5 Duhan van der Merwe's will show up and dance through the defense all day :(
