It really is astounding that, even with all the evidence right in front of them, there continue to those who not only claim climate change isn't real, but actually roll back the minimal steps we have taken to combat it.

It drives me crazy. To dare to talk about protecting the Earth when all you're doing is a PR stunt that pollutes the equivalent of a decade of a Westerner's life who already pollute a lot.

I love space exploration, but space tourism for selfish rich people is a cancer.

It's an awesome post-scarcity sci-fi story, and it makes me laugh that a company like Amazon is in charge of adaptation. 😁 But that's the world we live in.

I've been saying for years now that the GOP considers any attempt to correct their lies as "censorship" and eventually it would lead to this.

More speech is now called censorship.

Some of my LA friends have told me that the problem is climate change, and it is. It’s January for fucks sake. But that doesn’t mean we have to solve climate change to better control fire. If we wait for that, cities will keep burning. There are ways to mitigate risk. www.latimes.com/california/s...

The #climate/water paradox: As temperatures rise, more #water evaporates into the atmosphere & more precipitation occurs. But land areas are getting drier not wetter. Why? Because more water evaporates from soils. The rain that falls is in intense events in fewer regions, leading to worse #floods 👉

How can a country rule the work when its people are increasingly illiterate and consumed by conspiracy theories?
In online drone panic, conspiracy thinking has gone mainstream
Authorities are urging calm. But with trust in media and other institutions at all-time lows, fringe theories are winning the day.

Possibly my favourite picture of the Earth from the Moon, this one taken on Apollo 15.

I love this one because it isn't perfect. You can see the windowsill, you can feel that one of the astronauts is behind the camera. It's not perfectly framed but that makes it so human!
