Lithium iron-phosphate battery tech was developed in the U.S.

We then ignored it.

"Now, U.S. manufacturers rely on foreign entities of concern, resulting in GOP backlash in Washington, DC, and have to play catch-up as affordable EVs become a key to unlocking greater #EV adoption."

The bz4X is now technically competitive with my (model year 2021) Polestar 2. Way to go Toyota!
Toyota made a big splash with new and updated EVs.

Yet across the lineup, the real story lies beneath the surface: massive hardware upgrades, bigger batteries, upgraded motors and smarter tech:

Much supposition about a line item for "armored Teslas," but few facts. Now @mjgault.bsky.social breaks it down.

The line item predates Trump taking office; the solicitation seems to have been installing vehicle armor onto State’s existing #Tesla fleet.

The @gizmodo.com hed nails it rather nicely.

The State Department does a lot of business with a lot of different companies and has bought Tesla's before. But freaking out and editing a spreadsheet when it’s pointed out is weird.

Folks, I'm curious what your car and EV ad experience is tonight. From what I've been reading car commercials on the whole will be limited to Stellantis.
.

I love Super Bowl car commercials -- especially some of the creative EV ones in recent years.

Big takeaway from my former colleagues’ mad dash cross-country in 9 EVs and one gas car? A 2012 leading edge EV was 19 hrs slower to road trip—the bleeding edge newest 2024 EV is only 2 hours slower. A decade makes a difference! It’s infrastructure+vehicles together.
