Guess what it's Prime Day. Jeff doesn't need your cash, your indie bookshops do. UK.bookshop.org is a great start, pick your favourite store and shop like Amazon doesn't exist.

It was an incredible evening, thank you for coming along!
Well, another brilliant bookish evening, this time listening to Women’s Prize 2025 winner Yael Van Der Wouden talking about The Safekeep.

Such a great novel, I love it even more now that I’ve heard the author discuss it.

Thanks to @maxminervas.bsky.social for an enlightening and enjoyable event

It’s good to see me, isn’t it? 💜✨

Yes, yes, the rumors are true — we are OFFICIALLY launching here on Bluesky!

In case you forgot, we’re a place to buy books online where every purchase supports local bookstores, not billionaires.

Thanks for being here 🙌🏽

You know how annoyed you feel when people post cryptic messages and make you wait to find out what they're talking about? Yeah we're doing that.

A visitor is on their way...

Happy indie bookstore day to our friends across the pond. Here's to busy shops and less grumpy booksellers.

Absolutely this, incremental change is easier to achieve and stick to.
This! If you can switch from Whole Foods to a different grocery store and buy your books from bookshop.org instead of Amazon, that’s still a big step even if you feel tied to Amazon for other items. If everyone divested 30% that’s more than if a few people divest 100%.
When it comes to boycotting, just a thought. It’s okay if you can’t quit a company cold turkey. In Master Gardeners, when we encourage people to switch to native plants, the goal is 70% native, not 100%. If you were shopping at a store 80% of the time and cut it back to 60%, that 20% still hurts.

One of the absolute best things about being booksellers 👇
Last week EY and KS1 had a visit from Mevan Babakar to talk to us about her new book The Bicycle - one girl said “This is the best time of my life” 😍

Author visits make such an impact!

Thank you to @maxminervas.bsky.social for organising! 📚🚲

This year has been a mixed bag. So much sadness and loneliness in the world caused by the very platforms that also provide so much joy. A gentle reminder to everyone, third spaces still exist, they still need people to use them, and we thrive in them. 1/2
