Appropriately on the first day of post-op pain with a vessel attached to my body, I bought an Opera American virtual ticket to watch Opera Praktikos's Spoon Theory Song Cycle.

Oh that CHESS musical revival has an atrocious (rewritten for the umpteenth time) book.

And could I watch it again? Yes.

Thank goodness that when I book a background role in NYC, I know to bag a lot of the provided snacks. I grabbed and saved so much that I have post-operation snacks when cooking is tough on my right side.

A League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania group, a nonpartisan voter's rights group, resorting to generative AI slop art theft just to make a point.

Partial screenshotting so not to circulate the full image. But you can see the reactions just excusing it.

I’m at home with my Jackson Pratt vessel attached to my body. But anyway, have a post-op pic of me chewing on a cracker that happened less than 24 hours ago. Sadly on the Lyft home, I felt nausea and then puked (luckily we reached the destination right on time and I did so outdoors).

I guess one of those more interesting things I could say about #WickedPartTwo is that it quasi-restores an ending that you could only hear in the 2001 workshop recording.

Everyone stop acting weird and shocked about MTG. She has been systematically distancing herself from the current GOP for months and months. She has a plan reform herself under a new image ON THE RIGHT that’s not part of a sinking ship.

She’s not suddenly changing her tune! SHE’S AN OPPORTUNIST

Oh no, somebody stop the playwright rubbing their hands together to start their draft of "Mamdani and Trump."

I’ll see you in the other side…

It’s just a lipoma surgery.

NEW: Mississippians still have not received their full SNAP benefits more than a week after the government shutdown ended due to problems with a 40-year-old computer system running on COBOL.

And there is no guarantee they'll get them before Thanksgiving—or even by December.

Has any artist done that pool drowning meme where Elphaba and Glinda are either making-out or singing "For Good," while in proximity, a poor imprisoned Dorothy weeps for her Auntie Em?

I'm not knowingly immunocompromised myself, but I'm grateful that wearing KN95 respirators help reduce infection risk. I just received my pre-surgery call from the hospital and of course one of the question was whether I got (knowingly/symptomatically) sick, and I could honestly answer, "No."

For educative purposes, I screenshot this Nextdoor Texas thread, a vile thread hoping that the absence (kidnapped/traumatized by force) of undocumented children in schools means Texans get "to pay less taxes" for kids accessing education.

I really hate it when scientists keep saying that “we need to rebuild trust in science,” because it implies that scientists are to blame for the mistrust rather than the millions of dollars of dark money that have funded political attacks on science in order to advance a far right agenda.
