If anyone bothered listening to Martin Scorsese's dvd commentary in NEW YORK, NEW YORK (edited by Marcia Lucas), he recounts praising George Lucas for his rough cut of #StarWars as "like an arcade" where the audience feels involved in the action. #MandalorianAndGrogu
the people still mad about Scorsese for criticizing Marvel are going to have a real tough time with him voicing an alien in a Star Wars movie

It's my 32nd birthday. Please upload this Gemini-burrowing extension. Or send any anti-gen-AI kits over.
I uploaded this extension on my Google Chrome & Firefox.
"This guide will disable the Google Gemini AI Overview from Google searches. You can optionally hide AI mode entirely. This skips AI mode entirely, mitigating the environmental impacts of generative AI."

I'm now learning there's an L.A. HERE LIES LOVE, a musical about Imelda Marcos, glamor masking corruption, & the American imperial hand in the Philippines. From accounts, it's different from the Alex Timbers immersive direction.

So this university has been in the news lately. I suspect its current event has to do with my alumna benefits being slashed. There's a music building that no longer permits my alumna card. I can no longer take fitness dance classes among students.

Tomorrow's my birthday and I'm probably gonna do my laundry.

Sometimes following local news, even ones outside your state, leads me to go “Ooo, I didn’t know that place was staging this play!”
‘Primary Trust’ at New Stage has a message for this moment

New Stage Theatre’s newest production, “Primary Trust,” opening Tuesday for a two-week run through March 1, taps the core of the country’s epidemic of loneliness in a simple, elegantly touching way.

in this article, it says: "By removing writing from reporters’ workloads, we’ve effectively freed up an extra workday for them each week."

I work at a newspaper. Writing IS my fucking job! This is like saying "by removing patients from a doctor's workload..."

I wanna buy that student a coffee.
A conscientious journalism grad withdraw from a job when she learned the Cleveland Plain Dealer uses AI to write its stories.

Now the editor is castigating her and journalism professors for not being “prepared for the workforce.”

You can’t make this shit up.

I think I’ve been finally purged and cleansed out of the system that allows me to slip into free fitness dance classes at my alma mater. (I’ve always been transparent with instructors about my alumna status and they’re happy to have me.)

I probably wouldn't be this productive if I hadn't decided to regularly get back on ADHD meds. And it's thanks to the LGBTQ+ therapist who, over a year ago, suggested I try getting back on medication on the available New York insurance system.

So what's an example of a women-creative-led visual adaptation of an old book, by a woman author, that modernizes the anxieties of womanhood and sexuality and engages in a racial lens?

I haven’t seen the #WutheringHeights yet, but I still chuckle that my first exposure to any of Emerald Fennell’s writing (not acting) is BAD CINDERELLA, a musical collab with Andrew Lloyd Webber, where the worldbuilding amounts to “our society conforms to hotness, and we shun not-hot people.”

Today, I took the first LGBTQ+ self-defense class that advised then drilled me on ACTING CRAZY when faced up with a perpetrator. It even taught us to just run away.

On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

I'm just learning there's apparently a REALLY obscure 2018 #WutheringHeights adaptation that casts an actor of Romani descent (Paul Eryk Atlas).

And it does not look to be of professional polish.

This Broadway musical #Suffs finally has a PBS air date on May 8. I'm available to review and/or write on the show. I've seen a triad of iterations: off-Broadway, Broadway, and its touring stop in Salt Lake City.

I also still own press scripts of both off-Broadway & Broadway versions.
