Full map. Players passed through doors to reach the “boss” which was a stronger version of the spiders found in the mine.

When we say Fretless took 8 years, we really mean it took 8 years to find. Many games were started/abandoned.

Gameplay from 2019 shows our first level “The Mine” where Rob searched for magical ore to upgrade his Shovel Guitar!

When we started Fretless, Unity did not support aseprite files—it does now 🙏

We found amazing 3rd party tools which afforded rapid iteration of animations and tile maps.
