This is well stated. Mike Lee will forever be associated in my mind with his unbelievably cruel and stupid tweets about the Hortman assassination. He is a disgrace to the Senate and Utah.
A top staffer to Sen. Tina Smith emailed Sen. Mike Lee’s top staffers on Monday about “how much additional pain you’ve caused on an unspeakably horrific weekend”

Be more like Marc Elias. He exemplifies what it means to be a “fighter.” It’s that attitude of acknowledging the fear, flipping the source of it bird, and then walking toward it, 100% invested in victory. There are only a handful of people in politics right now that inspire me. Marc is #1

Autism isn't a choice. If someone's autism causes them to do things that annoy you, it's not because they want to annoy you or don't care that they are. It's because they have a literal disability. And just because you don't understand it doesn't mean it isn't one.

Hope that helps.

People like to believe if they do the *right* things they won't fall into one of these "vulnerable" populations. They view being "vulnerable" as a moral failing, but in reality whether someone is more vulnerable to disease than average comes down to pure dumb luck 1/x
The “covid is only a threat to the vulnerable” narrative primed the pump for the eugenics movement we’re seeing now.

It conditioned people to see the disabled & vulnerable as acceptable losses. People who were probably going to “die anyways”.

It paved the way for fascism.

This is a hot mess of a policy proposal: Taxpayers who donate to voucher programs would get 100% of their money back when they file their taxes. That means the tax break for giving to voucher programs would dwarf tax incentives for giving to churches, hospitals, food banks & every other charity.
Reupping this story. The tax bill includes the school voucher tax credit described here -- a 100% tax credit for donations to voucher orgs - so taxpayers would essentially get their money back when they file their taxes. A huge win for school choice movement. www.washingtonpost.com/education/20...
GOP voucher plan would divert billions in taxes to private schools
Donations to scholarship programs would be fully reimbursed through a new tax credit, creating the largest federal tax incentive for charitable giving.

I could be wrong about this but I really think most Americans do not want to be forced to “do their own research” about food & drug & product safety and would rather that the government agencies that have been sorting that all out for them for decades not be obliterated in the name of “efficiency.”
