It wasn't that long ago that train staff unions were demonised for fighting to keep train staff in carriages. I can't imagine what would have happened if this had been a driver only train.

Had a bit of a chuckle at a post on a Pertwee era Doctor Who post that stated it was “scary and fun” and not “political and woke” like today. It was probably the most political era of the show.
