Travel Is A Nightmare: A saga. (I will update this thread.) Well. As we were taxiing towards the runway we stopped. Now going back to the gate because one of the left engines (the one that controls pressurization? If I understood the pilot) is not functioning properly. (1/?)

This is true and they are super endangered by poachers who shovel them up by the hundreds and sell them at flea markets and shit. You should not buy the plants and if you happen to kick the poacher in the shins on accident, no one will hear about it from me.
still amazing to me the number of movies, games, etc. which have Venus Flytrap-based creatures in some form compared to the actual native range of Venus Flytrap, which is like, the great untamed jungles of a few wet pine savannas in North Carolina

Political violence is a feature of the American system, not a bug. We are a nation founded in violence and that has always used violence to achieve political ends. Say it shouldn’t be that way, say we need to change, but don’t say, “this isn’t how we do things.” We have always done this.

The MSNBC commentator saying that most political violence has historically come from the left just once again showed how we suffer from failing to learn history. Lynching, pogroms, race riots, the political violence that ended Reconstruction, and against the Civil Rights Movement. Come on.
