This is why I get annoyed at the insistence of a timeline for the Zelda games when they're all self contained adventures at heart. Same for most of Bond, if they started the next one saying 'here's the new 007', no one would care how it works after the first 5 minutes.

Sure but my assumption is that Microsoft wouldn't have paid all that money to buy Bethesda if it meant those games weren't going to be exclusives for them. Microsoft have let a lot of people go in the meantime.
