I mean, just watch, Weiss already has done this but will do it again — scream “standards for thee but not for me!” the minute there is actual good journalistic reporting (sadly, not out of CBS) on her misadventures.

*All* of these people deserve(d) to be treated with dignity and to have concerns for their safety taken seriously. I highlight the Iranian Christians only to point out, again, the hypocrisy of the admin’s fake pro-Xn stance. Same with its treatment of (overwhelmingly Christian) Latin Americans.
Sunday is a good day to highlight one of the many ways the “pro-Christian” admin is stoking fear among, and creating barriers to worship and fellowship for countless… Christians.
Immigrant faithful turn to virtual sermons and home communion amid Trump crackdown
Sitting alone at her dining room table this past Sunday, Doris Aguirre took a bite of a soda cracker and a sip of the orange juice she had prepared to represent the body and blood of Jesus Christ. Eyes closed, she then made the sign of the cross.

All these people who came to the US for fear of political or religious persecution (surely the “pro-Christian” admin knows that there were converts to Christianity among those deported) were treated shamefully, harshly detained, forcefully put on planes in shackles, and shipped to Iran like freight.

The reason “lakers” or lake freighters are l long & narrow is that they must fit through rivers and a systems of canals (like the Welland Canal, seen here) and locks, like the Soo Locks, which connect Superior to Huron. Edmund Fitz was inbound to the Soo Locks when she sank 50 yrs ago today.
One of the coolest parts of a short getaway to the Niagara region of 🇨🇦 (for a Gt Lakes nerd like myself) was driving along the Welland Canal-- by which ships transit between Lks Eerie & Ontario. At Lock 3, we saw this ship come in & drop down about 30 feet on route to Lk Ontario & finally Montreal.

Aha, I wondered, so it's also related to bhumi, which I mentioned in relation to Thailand's see Suvarnabhumi (सुवर्णभूमि) Airport.

Since this began with Thailand, the country's main airport name is also taken from Sanskrit/Pali: Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport (Sanskrit: सुवर्णभूमि - golden land, bhumi meaning land). Some place names in India have "bhumi." I-E "bhu" can mean land, dwelling place. English "bumpkin" may be related.

Just b/c big monied interests have sunk billions into asserting, not demonstrating, the utility & permanence of this evolving tech (another false premise is that the tech is somehow consistently the same thing, when in fact, it’s a moving target) does not require me to embrace it as “here to stay.“
