There is no reason to have a slip lane at the intersection of Carroll Avenue & Flower Avenue in Takoma Park.

@takomaparkmd.gov should remove it entirely.

Tell them this is not good enough for Four Corners next to Montgomery Blair HS. Safety is more important than vehicle throughput.

The Dutch have something called the Flexible Working Act, which allows workers to submit a written request to work from home, at least in part. Employers must have a good reason for refusing worker requests.

Why can't the USA have laws like this?

For the record, if I'm ever killed by the driver of a car and anybody uses my death to advocate for more policing, my ghost will come back from the grave to haunt you for the rest of your earthly existence. Advocate for better infrastructure, better design.

"As specified in the regulations, a Takoma Park resident may submit a request to the City Manager for a new sidewalk or a new traffic calming device located within one-quarter (1/4) of a mile from their primary residence."

You have to live in Takoma Park to make requests? And only within 1/4 mile?

For example the entire state of New Jersey has had it for decades so like, this isn’t reinventing the wheel here
I should also note that it’s “enabling legislation”, which is to say it would allow counties/municipalities to enable good cause laws, not impose it state wide for better or worse.

I talk about it a bit more here, including how it’s been done before ggwash.org/view/98385/i...

As more and more people are forced to stay renters because of an unaffordable homeownership market, good cause eviction allows residents to stay rooted in their communities and holds large landlords a...

"This request lies inside of the Upper Paint Branch Special Protection Area, therefore, it is out of scope for the Sidewalk Program."

The western side of New Hampshire has no sidewalk between Stonegate Dr & Southview Ave. Maybe environmentalism needs to be rethought if it impedes pedestrian safety.

Sidewalk is uneven, causing obstruction for wheelchair users & cyclists. Uneven sidewalk is on eastern side of New Hampshire Avenue, near Shiloh Christian Fellowship Church, about halfway between Southview Avenue & Windridge Acres Court - Colesville/Cloverly.

Things motorists have told me:

- Cars are better for the environment than buses because buses are bigger. Trains are the worst because they are big big.

- Speeding is good for the environment, because it means fewer cars stuck in traffic.

- Train and bus crashes kill more people yearly than cars.

Cyclists: salmoning on a sidewalk. Is this good or bad? If a bike lane or road isn't available or safe, does it matter which direction to go on a sidewalk? I salmon, because if I go with traffic I cannot see drivers turning right onto ramps and side streets.

Some cities in MD allow non-citizens to vote. The Maryland Constitution has banned non-citizens from voting in state & federal elections since 1851. Citizenship is a requirement to vote in MoCo elections, but is this a requirement of state or county law?

Engaging in the advocacy I do has deeply intensified the disdain I feel for private property. With public property, there's a greater possibility of getting things done. That possibility diminishes under the whim of private ownership, where there's less public accountability.

Last night I tried to go shoe shopping at a department store and as I walked in I asked the two security guards if there was a spot to store my scooter. They gestured to the registers, so I walked over and placed it behind the counter, only for them to scream at me like I was a criminal. Stressful.

What do we call the region between White Oak and Burtonsville? Fairland? Calverton? Tech Road? Cherry Hill? The MVA is called the White Oak MVA, but nobody would say the shopping center with Kohl's and Target was in White Oak. Google Maps calls it Calverton east of Route 29 and Fairland west of 29.
