I entered a grocery store today forgetting that tomorrow was Thanksgiving, almost had a panic attack, and quickly left without making a purchase. But not before accidentally knocking over a display in my haste to exit. 🤦🏻‍♂️

There's no shoulder or sidewalk to walk upon. I find the DOT at fault.

At night, those "zombie" pedestrians may be easier for drivers to see, because of the light from the phones.

I would tag David Moon, but here's not here. He's only on Twitter. Disappointing.

Why can't Maryland have a similar Flexible Working Act?

Doesn't this say a lot about how little they actually enjoy driving?

A full-blown meltdown about bike and pedestrian improvements delaying your commute by 15 seconds suggests you find driving excruciating.

One person told me that speed bumps are painful to people with bad backs, so installing them would cause people to sell their houses and move to another neighborhood.

And why would the left (or anyone else) have to be sharp?

Has anger at the State of Israel opened up deep veins of antisemitism within US culture that were always there just underneath the surface?
November 19, 2025 at 2:36 PM
Non-Jews are perfectly capable of educating themselves on the issues. If they have a knee jerk response of dismissing any discussion of antisemitism, it's because they don't care about antisemitism and haven't taken the time to learn about Jewish history. They have that ability and responsibility.

It could also just be a police officer who doesn't know the law very well. Most don't.
November 15, 2025 at 3:56 PM
Maybe a local Germantown regulation?

What's the speed limit? I'd imagine less than 50.

"E-Scooters are prohibited from riding on the sidewalk or on streets where the speed limit is 50 mph or higher."

Mine has a red brake light and a front light. Maybe this person's front light was off? Who knows.

It's a ghastly interchange. They need to remove the slip lanes entirely, widen the sidewalk and bridge to accommodate cyclists, and protect the bike/pedestrian path from the road through some form of separation.
November 14, 2025 at 5:20 PM
Isn't a redesign of this interchange part of the University Boulevard Corridor Plan? If not the first phase, I thought maybe the second.

Repeal the Second Amendment. Abolish the Senate. Defund the police. Open borders. Wealth caps. Mandatory "veganism" once lab cultured meat and dairy are technologically sophisticated enough. We can learn from the Soviet Union (don't throw the socialist baby out with the authoritarian bath water).

Also on this note: the streets I feel most safe scootering on - Flower Avenue or Lanark Way or Ellsworth Drive - are not safe because of enforcement. They are relatively safe because of their design, narrow, with abundant stop signs and speed bumps.

I usually take the elevator, which is super slow and occasionally smells of piss. Unfortunately, there's only one elevator. Most stations only have one. Public restrooms and extra elevators would make Metro so much more accessible and convenient.

These Metro stations have backup elevators
If you’ve ever needed an elevator to get in or out of a Metro station but the one at the station you were using wasn’t working, you probably had to ride a shuttle to or from the next-closest station w...

@takomaparkmd.gov What if someone is homeless and has no "primary residence" at all? What if someone works in Takoma or travels through it on a regular basis? Why do we have to be housed residents? What if they rent or own a Takoma home and want a sidewalk a half mile away? This is a bad regulation.
