The National Guard said it didn't encounter FEMA-hunting militiamen in WNC despite reports it had. That seems pretty unfounded. Not sure what my narrow reporting on that situation — which was ancillary to coverage of comments by a local sheriff I cover in South Carolina — has to do with this though.
