It's apparently also the 60th anniversary of Gamera! If I'd been paying attention I would've done a new piece but enjoy this one from a couple years ago.

Did you know. That the meme-explosion that was the wooden model of Sacabambaspis (an Ordovician jawless fish) held at a Museum in Helsinki, was created by a pioneering Estonian fish paleontologist and palaeoartist, Elga Mark-Kurik. 🧵

I’m pretty excited for Prehistoric planet: Ice Age. So I decided to draw a Woolly Mammoth! (Mammuthus primigenius). It’s far from perfect, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out! #iceage #mammoth #prehistory #prehistoriceplanet

This hatchling encounters a fully grown Tyrannosaurus rex on a winter morning - 12 metres long and 8 tonnes. The little one will never attain such colossal stature - he has a gloriously different destiny ahead of him.

With Nanotyrannus now being valid, clearly the next Pokemon generation should introduce a smaller, more nimble regional form of Tyrantrum

My latest for @nytimes.com! For 40 years, paleontologists have grappled over whether a small tyrannosaur — named Nanotyrannus — was its own animal, or simply a teenage T.rex. The debate has been ... contentious. Which is why it's so fun to finally be able to say this:

Folks? Nanotyrannus is real.

Another absolutely spectacular entry in David James Armsby’s incredible “Dinosauria” short film series. This might mark the first time Scutellosaurus has a prominent role in a work of dinosaur media, and it makes for a very memorable debut.

New look for Edmontosaurus annectens based on new mummy specimens. They had a head comb (you're no longer the only fancy one, regalis!) and a fleshy sail/crest thing going along the neck and back

Edmontosaurus annectens is in the news, and it made me remember of this oldie (2016) work. Something unusual tried here that got more or less confirmed from the new mummies is how a midline crest starts at the neck, and near the hips starts to transition to spikes that cover the tail!
