My neighborhood already had lots of Little Free Libraries, so instead of adding another one I built this poem dispenser for my boulevard

Just in case you need a little joy today: here are some lovely llama costumes from the 4-H costume contest at the State Fair

@seankershaw.bsky.social The Aldine pedestrian bridge is getting a little hairy to navigate, any chance somebody could come cut this back a bit?

I don’t know who needs to hear this but when your kid is playing with her squishy dog toy in the car seat and it explodes and she covers herself and the seat in a mysterious white cornstarchy substance and you have to immediately wash her off and wash her clothes and take apart the car seat (1/2)

@audreykennedy.bsky.social I love what you folks do at Axios and am a daily reader. My only small note is that this piece from today did not include the word "rhubarbitrage"

Dying to know what Gift of the Magi situation led to this person having no use for their brand-new chicken plucker

Was feeling very rugged after digging out the driveway to get the car out and get the kid to daycare, and then when I got there I saw a dad pulling up on cross-country skis and towing his kid in a Burley trailer

My 3-year-old is constipated and my dishwasher’s drain is backed up. Anybody know if there’s a product that can just solve both of these problems

Look AI and self-driving cars are great and all, but on days like this I seriously wake up and am struck by the technological miracle that I can live in a house that stays a comfortable temperature all year round

@seankershaw.bsky.social Are you folks ticketing/towing today? I think the snow emergency communication was good, but compliance in my neighborhood is pretty bad (and the plows just came through)

Companies break promises all the time. A self-guaranteeing promise does not require you to trust anyone.

My favorite new hobby is buying things for $40 on Facebook Marketplace. Somehow everyone seems to have agreed on that price for large used items. Backyard grill? $40. Basement freezer? $40. The best part is that if you decide you're done with something you bought, you can just sell it again for $40.

When I first saw this I thought “well that’s just bookmarks, it should be a first-class feature”, but what’s cool about this is that feeds allow motivated users to just bootstrap whatever features they want. Very clever!
if u are wondering about that red pin emoji here 📌

While I like the starter packs, I feel like the sudden influx of Bluesky user has destroyed the art of finding mutuals in bespoke ways, like posting “Boof Bonser” in someone’s mentions at 2:30am.

Dear 90s bands: instead of touring endlessly playing songs written for teenagers to middle-aged audiences, more of you should be following Chris Ballew’s lead, who pivoted to kids music and is still writing songs that slap just as hard as the Presidents top hits did
