Conservative Councillor for Mottingham, Coldharbour and New Eltham ward, and Leader of the Opposition on Greenwich Council. Views own.
📺 This week at the Town Hall I raised the future of Coldharbour Adventure Play Centre which has been put in doubt by the Council's "review", for the second time in recent years. Just like last time, we'll do everything we can to protect it (1/2)

Greenwich Labour is proposing to cut the 𝟏𝟎𝟎% 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐋 𝐓𝐀𝐗 𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓 scheme that we secured 5 years ago. Tonight Opposition @GreenwichTories councillors will vote to try to protect it for 12,300 low income households. Here’s why 👇

Great summary on @greenwichwire.bsky.social of Sunday's public meeting about Greenwich Council's plan to close Maryon Wilson Animal Park. It would be far better for the Council to withdraw this proposal sooner rather than later greenwichwire.co.uk/2025/01/28/m...

𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄: I've written to Greenwich Council Leader Anthony Okereke, urging him to withdrawal the proposal to close #Charlton's Maryon Wilson Animal Park. If it is NOT withdrawn, the Opposition Group of councillors will put this to a separate, dedicated Town Hall vote

Great work @matthartley100.bsky.social - this is a completely bonkers decision by Labour. The saving isn’t even big enough to be categorised as a drop in the ocean!

Time to hold their hands up & admit they’ve got it wrong.

Increasingly clear to all concerned that Labour lied their way into government.

And many Labour MPs 👇 now feeling the consequences of their unique combination of pre-election sanctimony and under-delivery now in govt. Result = trust in politics declines even further.
