The Apothecary Diaries is just so fantastic and beautiful. And I hear the manga's art style is even more breathtaking than the show's art style, OMG.

I'm also just coming off the heels of A Sign of Affection which was another 10/10 anime 🩷

Feelin’ real tired of how Americans flock to European cities each summer, return to gush about how enjoyable those cities are, but then vote against public transportation, bike-inclusive roads, housing, and building for people instead of for cars and corporations. Because racism and classism.

People keep mentioning the proposal is to only raise taxes on the rich by 2%. It's true that this is tiny in the scheme of things but what the rich are fighting against is the IDEA that any taxes should ever be raised on them. So we're fighting "not the number" but the very idea of taxing the rich.

This July 4, I’m calling on people in high income nations across Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand to open their doors to refugees from the American state and beyond: trans people, people facing deportation and disappearance risk, refugees crossing seas in boats.

This is urgent

What we are living through is the PEAK of "drained pool politics"

Drained pool politics is the termination or defunding of public resources due to the will of one group, whether they also use the resource or not.

Think the end of public pools nationwide b/c white people refused to integrate

Florida lawmakers denied access to detention camp in the Everglades because of “safety concerns”, but those safety concerns do not extend to those detained there or the president of the United States who got a tour yesterday. There is also no running water or plumbing.

Boycotting is a privilege.

Prepping is a privilege.

Protesting is a privilege.

Leaving the country is a privilege.

Not all solutions are accessible to everyone.

We need robust community care to ensure people aren’t left behind.

Please believe me when I tell you:

Double the fuck down on your spiritual practice now.

You are going to need it.

And no, that doesn't have to be a prayer-god thing.

The thing that sustains and nourishes you.

That makes you more alive to yourself, the world, others.

More present.

Popping in for a minute to say that it really sucks that the murder bill passed Congress and ALSO to thank every single person who tried to stop the bill from passing. What you did matters. Finally, I wrote a few words: open.substack.com/pub/prisoncu... - I hope they might offer some encouragement.

The reason why I keep reminding poor & middle-class white Americans that Project 2025 & that horrific bill is about making y'all serfs again, is often y'all really don't know history. All of what's going on is to have a permanent white underclass. In the screenshots is how they view y'all.

Alligator Alcatraz was built in 8 days

It took just over a week to create a massive concentration camp that will torture people

Remember this the next time those in power claim they can't house the homeless, feed the starving or provide medical care to the the poor

They can, they don't want to

An important but inconvenient fact to remember about NYPD "work stoppages" and "quiet quitting."

When NYPD intentionally makes fewer arrests and does less police work in protest, violent crime goes *down*
🙂🙃

Read that again. Violent crime goes *down* when cops quit.

And we've known why since 1970
