Techsky, I'm looking for a thin-and-light machine to dev on. Don't care about a touch screen, I want it to weight as little as possible, good screen brightness, good specs (memory/cpu), good IO, good battery life. I most do web dev (PHP, JS, TypeScript, Go) & use VSCode or JetBrains for IDEs.

Finished Eternal Strands and felt...relief. Eternal Strands had some great interpersonal narrative, the stuff of old Bioware (not shocking, it is Laidlaw's studio after all) that I desperately wanted Veilguard to have.

Dems look like they're bidding on fascism at a silent auction

given the amount of sucking up to conservatives in this speech it sounds like liz cheney is going to be the democratic nominee for 2028
March 5, 2025 at 4:19 AM
we're all going to die as democrats clutch their pearls and say they did everything they could while sitting on their asses talking about the soul of democracy and failing institutions

Republicans are so stupid but they fixed the game, meanwhile Democrats are sitting there with little signs or in pink outfits while their very presence lends authority to the joker at the podium.

why is anyone on msnbc talking about even the prospect of relying on republicans for anything...holy shit this is wild, liberals literally have nothing. i think jon stewart is still too libbed up for me but his recent interview with psaki was very telling about not only the party but msnbc as well

the influx of libs to this site is already infecting the brains of those I follow, damn

The DAV discourse here is far more measured than on some other sites, but people are still pretty locked in. The game was a very fine action fantasy game, and a poor entry, in my opinion, in the Dragon Age series.

its easier than ever to open up a tab, type "is this stupid thing i'm about to tell everyone they could do really as easy and feasible as i'm about to make it out to be" and find out the answer is a very obvious NO but fuck it, the privilege of the stupidest people to post will not be denied

one of the worst things i've seen in lefty communities is folks who deserve the least charity being given tons of chances for continued harm by the very people they're harming while people who just wanna take out the trash are given no charity and mobbed for understanding how these people operate

ive been so fucking sad this week i just wan to stop bawling my eyes out
January 13, 2025 at 6:11 AM
i think it's been long enough, and I don't want to get into too much detail, but overall, veilguard made me very sad, and not in the ways good writing and storytelling makes me sad. as an action fantasy game it's fine, it doesn't feel like an rpg, and as a DA game it feels the weakest for me.

kinda tired of pokemon tcg mobile. it feels like it's completely rng. deck match ups, cards, coin flips. I get you gotta simplify but if im rolling the dice every time with little chances to strategize a comeback feels bad. starting hands can really decide where you concede right away lol

Played through Final Fantasy 16 and there are some nice hits, and some really glaring misses, especially with some of the major plot points, as well as some of the pacing. Not bad though.

i'm pleased to see more talk about alienation within leftist communities lately because i think that it doesn't get as much attention as it deserves. it's taken me awhile to figure out that it was a big part (along with trauma) about why i feel how i do

i'm glad there's more things out there for more people but damn if it doesn't give choice paralysis sometimes

seeing software devs on linkedin post their "code strategies" and it's just a way of doing something that's common and well known for years but they think they've done something clever and it's like, what are they teaching these day?

marvel rivals feels like its going to be impossible to balance between competitive and casual. it also suffers from many of the same issues OW is attempting to solve now that I hoped rivals would have answers for already. love the art style, voices good, battlepass is done poorly, UI needs work.
