Anyhow, any advice is appreciated. Thin and light are my key phrases here so don't suggest big machines with discrete graphics, don't need 'em.

Another option is buying one of those mini-PCs I can connect to anyone, setting it up and just like, remoting into it and doing all that locally, but that feels like a questionable solution.

I don't want to spend like 1500 for a machine, this will be for casual dev at home. I would dual boot or run a VM, but it's a hassle and I'd rather just be able to boot up a machine and do it there. I might look into other languages to learn too, like Python and various JS frameworks like Vue.

And this isn't meaning to start anything, I just honestly as I was playing, couldn't help but be reminded of the things that made me fall in love with another series the creative lead of this game worked on.

The overarching plot is kind of generic, but I didn't really care. The characters were the stars and they were written so well I want to know more about them, and stories I've rarely seen addressed are focused on so wonderfully.

So many of the stories DAV tried to tell but did so unsuccessfully were done so effortlessly in Eternal Strands it was just a breath of fresh air to see. Even without fancy cutscenes, the voice acting was great and nailed the mood.

Democrats are woefully unprepared and incapable of rising to the political moment, of actively fighting against fascism. They continue to act as if its business as usual while the room is burning around them. It'd be laughable if it wasn't so devastating for the most marginalized.

The shit Republicans are doing right now is disgusting and harmful to so many, and it absolutely sucks that the victims of these actions have only spineless bootlickers as an alternative.

That's all. Again I hope if you read through this you can respect it's simply the opinion of one fan, and you are also entitled to yours, I just hope everyone can take a step back and look at the full breadth and scope of the factors involved and have a fair conversation, even with disagreements.

No one wanted to see this (except maybe the culture war tourists) and it's truly disheartening to feel like your fears and anxieties were validated, but I think lots of people who, I repeat, are big fans, really saw this coming from a mile away even before release.

Whatever happens and regardless of my feelings about this game, I do hope that the talented folks in the studio either gets the chance to finish ME5 and maybe have a last go at remembering what its audience wants, or at least maintain a job within the publisher if things turn out worse.

Considering Andromeda, Anthem, and now DAV, I'd be absolutely stunned if Bioware isn't on the chopping block, and that sucks. ME:Legendary Edition was great but I don't know if it sold enough to bolster studio goodwill within EA as a publisher to protect them from a situation like this.

As a fan of the series, I kind of hope this is the end of it. I think the writing suffered the most, and the writing and the world are what made it for me. It would be tragic to end on this note, but I'm not confident the studio, as a whole, can achieve what its core audience expects anymore.
