I did this a few years ago with a panel that got rejected by AWP. We had a great time at Barrelhouse, a better conference.
We didn't plan it this way, but if you had a killer AWP panel proposal that just got rejected, why not send it our way instead? We promise we won't even charge you $400 or whatever it is to get through the door

My 15yo gives this 3/5 stars, but she devoured it in 2 days, so I don’t know how accurate her scoring system is. She said she really didn’t like any of the characters, so she couldn’t love the book. This bummed me out bc I know we all love to write unlikable characters.
