With great power comes great responsibility. I think when Democrats get back into power, they should have that as their guiding light, and hold others to the same standard. Anyone who misused great power, and while doing so committed crimes, should be gone after to the fullest extent of the law.

I pray for the repose soul of Charlie Kirk. May he receive God's grace and may he and all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Political violence is a cancer on our body politic.

How did my opinion piece 3 years ago fail to get published suggesting ratio caps on college tuition to average graduate salary on debt and controlling tuition increases to lower than inflation, while now it's open season on crazy ideas for higher ed financing? How are we living in this world?

House passes bill that will gut American healthcare and give even more of it to billionaires. If it gets through the Senate, Dems won't ever have the power to undo this unless rural people give up spite at arrogant liberals in favor of justice for themselves and others. Very depressing.

Democrats should never use focus groups again, or at least not until they prove they can defend a perspective rather than base one on focus group data. They are too pandering and not bold enough to do the right thing with the data.

The problem: it feels like the GOP are the Harlem Globetrotters and the Dems are the Washington Generals.

So I want the Star Trek post scarcity future where everyone can pursue passions and work to benefit others. I think the Musk, Thiel ilk dreams of the Alien future where evil corporations control absolutely everything and get away with unspeakable evil with impunity. How are we not winning on vision?

I just keep thinking of the problems with making incremental progress, as has long been advocated by many in the Democratic party. It will take a century of incremental progress to get back to where we were before Trump after this. We will need much more rapid progress going forward.
