This Russell Crow Robin Hood movie is not that bad, it's no Man in Tighs, but it's not that bad.

Let's be honest, the most embarrassing thing is not the cheating, it's being at a Coldplay concert.

Life can be complicated and, honestly, shitty. But sometimes it can also be a balmy evening in a north London pub while a guy butchers Wonderwall with a new @kjcharleswriter.com book about a corseted copper and a copper little shit

One of the wildest convos I've had in Argentina (so strap in) was with people that voted for Milei and were picking and choosing out of all the madness which bits he was actually going to do and which were him "just making the liberals mad"

They told you who they are, and what they were going to do

I remember this painting maybe once a month, and it breaks my heart every time.
Keith Haring died of AIDS aged 31 on 16 Feb 1990.
One of his last works, Unfinished Painting, was deliberately incomplete, reflecting the devastating, unquantifiable loss to the arts due to AIDS.

Honestly, I blame us Gen X, a generation to prove that scepticism builds nothing.

On a Friday night on a pub in London you can find somebody that easily reminds you of Norah Jones

As horrible as the LA fires are, I find it sort of a bittersweet watch, like I did in the pandemic, to see the world realising what Latin people have known for a long time: community is the only thing that will keep you alive.

Just one thing to all people that thought they could not take sides on the issue of the Palestinian genocide:
You have opened the doors for Trumpers and their delusional colonization wet dreams. You showed them they can do whatever without consequence.

Second on my list and this is a yearly re read @kjcharleswriter.com Will Darling adventures, the whole three books (which I have in all formats but I cannot recommend the audio enough).
They are both idiots, and I love them. Got me through the pandemic.

I'm going to start singing the praises of the wonderful books I read because we all need some positivity.
January 8, 2025 at 7:40 PM
Today is 5th of January and I have yet not read any new books.
I have re read the whole Will Darling adventures because my comfort default is always KJ Charles, but this is not looking good for my year goals.

You would be surprised to believe this elegant gentleman is part Jack Russell but he stayed awake all of last night and he found the rat (not metaphorically sadly) today.
Waiting for pest control is one way to start the year.

So much this. I was in uni studying computer science in '98, and what the teachers were saying is that this windfall of work to prepare for Y2K was not going to happen again and to create better systems to avoid it in future. Y2K should be lauded as the immense success of communal work that it was.

“hole in the ozone layer” levels of erasure. my mom was a project manager who busted her ass for years to make sure IBM was ready for Y2K and completely succeeded, only for it to get turned into a late night joke. funny how the stories of mass collective action to avoid disaster rarely get told
DAMMIT NPR.

I spent nine months upgrading over TEN THOUSAND desktops at a F500 client. The grand total was over SEVENTY THOUSAND applications upgraded.

Y2K "didn't live up to the hype" because the industry busted ass to duct tape everything first.
