They are constantly inundated with book proposals from authors. Be aware and be careful.

Yes! Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, readers!
Last year I stopped using Goodreads and then stopped tracking what I read altogether. I enjoy reading so much more now that there's no part of my brain occupied with ratings.

🚨 READERS 🚨 📚💙

You can help the #BookSky feeds feel more vibrant by posting about what you're reading, replying to other people's posts and interacting with the kind of content that you want to see more of.

Readers are the main viewers of the feeds, but tend to lurk instead of posting.

Hey, if people could not post actual, unedited smut/spice excerpts on here in front of everyone, that would be great 🙃

#currentlyreading Can You Solve the Murder, which is basically a choose-your-own-adventure book for grownups. Cant's say the characters are super interesting, but the structure is very cool. Despite the choices, it still manages to create something of a 1st (and I'm assuming 2nd & 3rd) act by... 1/2

But I have promises to keep,
And hours to go before I sleep,
And hours to go before I sleep.

Merriam, a career-oriented lexicographer from the city, returns to her small town for the holidays and meets Webster, a ruggedly handsome librarian, who shows her the true DEFINITION of Christmas.

Why do I put off writing? When I'm actually focused and doing it, it's great. Today I've already done close to 3,500 words. Is it hard? Yes. Is it enjoyable? Also yes. Really need to get better about putting writing first. It's worth the effort, it's enjoyable, and I'm good at it.

You can only call yourself an author if you're from the Author region of France. Otherwise you're just a sparkling writer.

"(One of Agatha’s genius moves is that her detectives are content which means they are able to focus on other people – this modern trend of forcing the detective to be addicted, mourning, frightened, damaged, etc. is juvenile. It’s the equivalent of children bashing their dolls.)"

I've been reading/binging a ton of pulpy/classic weird tales and horror stories, and then clicked on a "horror story" from a very MFA-esque and literary magazine. The whiplash from reading the first paragraph was like being hit in the head by a 2-by-4.

Writing them down in actual sentences? Nearly impossible.

It's bad when your current read causes you -1 psychic damage per second. It's worse when the current read is for a book club you're running and you can't DNF it ;-;
