I saw it 3 times in the old ABC cinema in Walsall in 85. I loved it and still do. My daughter saw it in the cinema the other day and I had no idea it was back in cinemas.

I remember attending a conference dinner in Lancaster about 20 years ago, where Chris Bonington was to be the after-dinner speaker. Sadly, he had to cancel at short notice and we had Bruce Jackson instead.

I sized up a potential piece of work today. Not a large amount of material, but diverse in provenance. I spotted at least 6 languages, many different hands and in many states of decay. Tightly-folded paper, vellum, volumes, printed books, photographs. Lots of rusted paper clips. Good luck AI!

My last 3 prescriptions have had a little correction in the bottom of the lenses. Not quite varifocals, but my optician reckons the next one will be. Harumph.
