A fab weekend, tipped off by a day at The Grange at a charity concert for the Meath. Lots of glitz, top loaded with AAA opera talent.

We visited Peterborough yesterday to see a museum exhibition. Followed that by a visit to the City’s amazing cathedral. Was struck by the authentic representation of medieval monks…

I don’t have a photo from 5 years ago today, but here’s one from the 4th March 2020. This was the last event I attended before lockdown. It was Missa Solemnis at the Barbican. My mum was in the BBC Chorus.

A few power cuts tonight, with one lasting nearly two hours. Power back but a couple of brownouts. We’ve made the best of it, digging out a portable speaker and having a little dance and drink. The cats are mellow too…

#MyFirstTerryPratchett was Sourcery. I got it from John Menzies in Walsall, which had a great fantasy section. I loved it so much I went back for the Colour of Magic and Light Fantastic to fill in the gaps of Rincewind’s adventures. I was hooked.

I’ve spent today listening to this newly-released album, Intro, by singer, Kaeto. It’s moody, sophisticated electronica, with lush vocals and more than a few great tracks.

Some wag has been having fun with the Wikipedia entry of my old school. The motto has been changed from ‘Dvm Tempus Habemus’ to ‘Nos iactare dux in cibum’, a cheeky reference to this event from a few years ago…
