I initially thought Amanda got screwed on #WheelOfFortune last night. I thought she said both words together just before the buzzer, but someone uploaded a slowed-down video. She started the solve a fraction of a second after the buzzer. It was so close. www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5Xw...

Trump has quietly gutted enforcement of the corporate alternative minimum tax — a boon for big corporations.

His Big Ugly Bill, which slashed Medicaid and SNAP, also gave corporations $16B in new depreciation tax breaks this year.

A windfall for the wealthy at your expense.

Wow. I went past this spot many times as a kid during the 80s. I didn't know it was prone to flooding.
The Bay took over the highway during this morning's #KingTides in Marin.

Funny that this came up in my feed on Threads. Last week my vacuum needed a new belt. I encountered the same problem. Only Walmart had vacuum belts. Not Home Depot, Menards, Target, or Meijer.

Neil Patrick Harris Calls Out Abby Lee Miller for Airbrushing His Face in Instagram Post: 'Ummm… What Did You Do?'
Neil Patrick Harris had a hilarious reaction to a photo Abby Lee Miller posted with him after she attended his new Broadway comedic play, 'ART.' In the image, Harris' face seems to be heavily edited a...

I'm tired of hearing about criminals with dozens of arrests who are out walking the streets committing more crimes. Illinois needs to go all-in on a three strikes system. We have more than enough evidence there are people in society who get arrested multiple times and do not deserve to live freely.

Wow. I’m shocked too. I’ve used Crucial RAM for a few computers and I always consider them when I need RAM. Admittedly, the last 2 times I bought RAM, I bought Corsair.

She’s right. We have to offer people a choice. I hate it when Dems won’t run in “red” areas because they think/know they’ll lose. Once people see there are options besides a stale GOP, you will start gaining votes. Some Suburban Chicago longtime red areas have turned purple or blue.
Tonight, we did something everyone counted out. We proved to a nation that states like Tennessee are still worth fighting for. The margin was close, and that can only be attributed to the thousands of volunteers who showed out. This is just the beginning.

During the shutdown, the Senate approved adding $32B to Trump's already record breaking $1 trillion Pentagon budget.

The Senate still hasn't voted on extending ACA subsidies — which would cost $35B.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

If your doctor decided you needed an MRI (indicating concern about something serious) and you claim that you didn't ask why or what part of your body he wanted to look at, you are:

1. Really stupid; or

2. Dangerously detached from reality; or

4. Lying; or

4. All three. 🎯

Creating a military conflict with Venezuela gives this administration a legal "hook" to invoke the Alien Enemies Act. In other words, the foreign war is being manufactured in order to facilitate court deference for its domestic mass deportation policy. It's a Stephen Miller Special.

I paused the video of Qatar GP qualifying when they showed Kimi Antonelli's garage. Mercedes puts the lat-long of the race on the garage floor. I entered the coordinates and they actually come up outside the Lusail circuit. They're for an access road. I figured they'd use coords for the pits. #F1

I don't get it. College football games get a longer broadcast window than NFL games, and they still manage to run past their timeslot.

I'm not a fan of basketball courts that aren't wood-toned. They look too garish in any other color.

I can't believe some Chicago suburbs are still going ahead with their Christmas festivities Saturday night. We're forecast to have 8-10" of snow on the ground by 6PM. Folks don't need to be out driving in this just to see parades and Christmas tree lighting. That stuff can be postponed.

Last night a post from a group protesting a new gas station popped up in my Facebook feed. They used an AI-generated image that had the usual misspellings and typographic nonsense in it. A couple people said they agreed with the post but disliked the use of AI. Use AI images at your own peril.
I don’t know if anyone else notices or cares, but when I see a presentation in which the speaker uses obviously generated-AI images to illustrate their slides, it makes me immediately less confident in whatever other content they’re presenting.

I used to volunteer with a nonprofit that teaches immigrants English. I interviewed people who either completed the program or were still in it. One became a medical doctor. Another opened a fish market & restaurant. Another was a commercial pilot trying to restart his career. Pretty damn American.
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

People drive too fast in parking lots & people need to stop blowing red lights. 2 wks ago I saw a rollover crash caused by someone going thru a red light. Yesterday there was another blown red light crash there. Today I saw 5 cars go thru another red light. What happened to traffic law enforcement?
