Bristol-based internationalist. Now a gardener having retrained over the last year. Green Party member. Gig goer. Mostly gravitate towards posts around politics, environment & nature, science and silly stuff.
This draw has gone from shameless and hideous (Infantino + Trump) to beyond painful (repartee alongside Rio's pre-records)

WhatsApp just tried to make me use an Oxford comma, as if that's the law. It's not, I don't want this kind of shit dictated to me. This happened 30 years ago when the MS spellchecker decided that Brits used S in some words and Americans used Z (we Brits were happy with either). Stop killing random

🚨Major Rebrand Alert 🚨

Just went to pick up a new book of sudokus for my Mum. And W H Smith is no more - in a major rebrand, they've dragged themselves from the Middle Ages right up to around the same period.

Goodbye W.H. Smith
Hello....T.G. Jones

Seriously?

And now some radishes are up (more now planted), will try a pesto with the leaves, as suggested yesterday and munch through the rest🌱

Froglet update - when I dug the pond last year, I secured a net bad half full of pebbles to the water's edge to enable them to clamber out to the long grass. Happily my froglets have pond smarts, and this has become their regular hangout. I counted 20 or so in this shot. They're still tiny🌱

First froglet of the year - a hundred or so tadpoles are almost there now as well🌱

I'm guessing (and hoping) that I have some damselfly youth - can anyone confirm please?🌱

Do we really have another 3 years and 9 months of this lunacy?

"How did you get so rich?"
"Move fast and break things."
"What's the bigliest thing?"
"The World economy."
"OK, I'll give it a go. Everyone will love me."

Looks like the Tangerine Tornado forgot to add Russia to his hitlist that takes in just about every other nation state and trading bloc from China down to Saint Pierre & Miquelon

On more prosaic politics this side of the pond, it's amusing that the govt's much trumpeted AI tool is being officially dubbed "Humphrey" (source shorturl.at/RfKPV)

Alt: Gif of Sir Humphrey Appleby from "Yes, Minister" and "Yes, Prime Minister", with a wry nodding smile

Watching #Traitors / #TheTraitors, I can't get over the fact that it *really doesn't matter* if the faithful out a traitor or not. Until the final days. They'll just be replaced, nothing changes. Just stay in the game. You don't need to uncover the Traitors. Flawed concept but still fun. Sorry

Watching the vote in Squid Game 2 (ep 3) I convinced myself it was going to be the infamous 52% vs 48%. But, no. 50.1% vs 49.9%. Because of narrative tension (not really tense, as we all know there are more eps to come)
Still clearly traumatised though. And some of the parallels rang true

Blimey - first emergency govt loud text alert since they trialled it, what, five years ago?
It's going to be very blowy outside. A blustery day, as Pooh and Piglet would say

As it's now December, we're allowed to post Christmas Decoration stuff, right? Here's a mass of mistletoe up a birch tree in Ross-on-Wye. So much of it around in the area🌱

Tonight's gig: English Teacher, SWX Bristol. They were great, witty, fun, rocking, tender. Last night of their tour to cap a stellar year. Great support also from TTSSFU (second time this year I've seen them after they supported Mannequin Pussy a few months ago)

Gig update time. Porridge Radio tonight at Marble Factory (Bristol) tonight were fab. Heartfelt, rocking, tuneful, felt warm on a cold evening. A night with a gig is better than a night without, and they were good. Short burst of vid to see the vibe. Phone was pocketed otherwise

Hi friends!

I just wanted to give a quick update on The Onion’s purchase of InfoWars, which we can’t wait to relaunch as the dumbest website on the internet.

The long and short of it: We won the auction and — you're not going to believe this — the previous InfoWars folks aren't taking it well.

Scenario: a troll interacts with a post of mine, I block them. This means that I can no longer see what they write. Good. My question is: do they still try to interact with my posts, unaware of their invisibility? Might we end up hoarding a whole army of trolls screaming into the void for eternity?
