It was reprehensible when people mocked condom usage at the height of the AIDS pandemic.

It is just as depraved to mock those wearing masks to reduce the spread of airborne viruses today.

Whenever someone takes any kind of step to protect public health, they should be applauded, not mocked.

Airports like Melbourne, Aus now have services to support invisible disabilities, recognising the diverse needs & presentations of disabled people.

And society at large need a huge education campaign on what disability actually is. Because time & time again people & media show they’ve got no clue

A lot of folks default to linking to books on Amazon when they want to show someone a book they recommend - may I suggest using Bookshop.org instead? And for audiobooks, you can also use Libro.fm.

A better way to buy books online. Every purchase financially supports local independent bookstores.

If it doesn't get inside you, it can't make you sick.

Respirators are designed by experts to help protect you from aerosol hazards, including COVID, the flu and other airborne diseases, and tested to make sure they are effective - and they are.

Anyone who tells you otherwise is a quack.

@tryangregory.bsky.social - at the 49 minute mark... this is not correct, yes? Delta existed in 2021. Then 2021-22 was the beginning of Omicron - which was able to infect with far less virus...which... isn't that also a more problematic virus? podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...

Tonight, I’m published in MSNBC—sorry, MS Now.

In this piece, I explain how the right-wing war on COVID mitigation measures and politicization of science led us to this moment.

If money has to change hands (either way) for Disney characters to be included in the work users make with Open AI, then copyrighted material *does* belong to its owners, and so, sadly, the original dataset is illegal, and Open AI has to shut down.

I DON’T MAKE THE RULES.

Every single public health leader who denied the fact that COVID is airborne created permanent conflicts of interest that mean they simply can't be trusted to provide accurate information on any airborne illness (including the flu).

Screwing up and wasting an enormous number of lives will do that.

Journalists! If you’re covering the #ACIP meeting this week, this report is super helpful, with tons of info and stats on the birth dose of hepatitis B vaccine
CIDRAP’s Vaccine Integrity Project has released a major evidence review: 400+ studies/reports, 40 years of data—and the conclusion is unmistakable.

There is no evidence supporting a delay in the hepatitis B birth dose.

If new proposals detailed in an FDA memo are put into place, experts told me it would mean the end of annual flu shots. And end of most vaccines for pregnant people. And maybe the end of updates to pneumonia vaccines. And more.
