Networks can be super specific to moisture, temp, and available organic material, decayed just the right amount. If they've established, theres something 'right' w the spot. When folks forage + find known edibles, they geotag the spot and return after rain events. Too bad these DVSMs aint morels :(

Did it rain 7-10 days ago? Not checking to see if DVSM (Dog vom..) is a thing, but you may have a mycellium network of some kind that's flourished. Try digging under the bark between two close surface blooms, maybe there's a connection. Maybe it'll recur if the area remains relatively undisturbed.
