I think people need to remember the "social" in social media: it's about who you want to be social and associated with, and also just as if not more importantly, who you don't want to be social and associated with.
I'm fairly certain no one has more patience than a grade school band teacher

It's interesting to see how journalists and politicians are handling different administrations.

Things that would have been questioned to no end, considered complete non starters, or totally unacceptable are allowed to go unanswered, are cheered on, or "well that's just what they do" explained away

At some point, America is going to need a reckoning with what seems to be elder abuse in government.

There have been clear signs of manipulation of elders who are governing us in various ways whether feeding them bad data, or keeping them in office when they have lost their faculties.

Actively fighting to not feed needy families by seeking to have courts stop you is... a wild choice.

What are you guys hearing about the Nexperia chip shortage? I haven't heard y'all talk about it yet on the shows. Seems like this should be getting more traction given the scope of impact.

It is possible that when people say the "no kings is about hating America" they truly believe what they're saying.

It seems they truly are against reflecting on and looking for improvements in the country, & they believe that is against America, because it doesn't match the America that they want.

"fiscal responsibility" seems to be suspiciously applied when trying to make an argument NOT TO DO something, but I don't often hear it when making an argument TO DO something.

Funny that... It's like some people want to disingenuously use that when it suits them and ignore it when it doesn't.

The problem with spending all your time being "against" is that it makes it really hard to then be "for" because you haven't learned how.

When you spend all your time being "contrarian" you don't learn how to do things like "make policy" or "govern"

@animalspirits.bsky.social appreciate you guys talking about the expansion of the American investor more deeply into the middle class.

Consistent inflows to the market, every paycheck via 401ks, and other automated investments, stabilize the market, and soften the shocks. It has an impact.

Reminder that in the United States, we send out congress people to represent us to figure out compromises to set policy & continue to operate our nation.

Just obstructing is not setting policy.

If they can't effectively negotiate policy, they can't govern. They aren't doing their job.

I've been thinking about how we create the places we are (I should, it's a big part of my job). & I've been thinking about that beyond the context of companies.

We need to ask ourselves consistently & regularly:

"What is the place we're building?"

Does it match the observable outcomes we want?

For those of you that enjoy camping, hiking, and other outdoorsy type stuff, now is a good time to start looking for sales as the summer season winds down. This also includes marketplaces and thrift shops as people are clearing out their own gear.

@downtownjoshbrown.bsky.social @michaelbatnick.bsky.social re: reporting requirements. Appreciate your takes. I get that this takes resources for companies, but isn't this something that AI should be doing to reduce the toil for companies? Isn't that one of the value propositions for AI?

We have been trained to rethink & adjust what "violence to others" means. We've also been trained to rethink & adjust what might be considered violence to others, to accept a lot more than perhaps we should.

We need to reevaluate how we think about the concept of violence & recognize it A LOT more
September 12, 2025 at 12:27 PM
It's okay to say that we don't want anyone to be killed as a result of violence & at the same time acknowledge the life they lived and the impact they had.

We can think and do both these things at the same time, and more because it's all a part of the context and complexity of the world we live in.

The results of current events are due to the policy choices we've made in the past.

If people don't like the results, then we need to do something different and the way to do that is through policy change that is designed to get us to the outcomes we DO want to see.

Given all the concerns about physical and mental maladies on display, how long before the shift happens? How long can the handlers leave him out there without doing damage to their own agenda?

With the shift to wind and solar, just make the economic argument anymore.

Anyone who continues to stand in the way of solar and window doing so because they have some combination of financial incentive, they're stuck in the past, or their vindictive against the industry.

Another example that it's not about policy or values. It's about "our guy is doing it, so it's okay"

Can you imagine any Dem even proposing something like this?

Now, can you imagine Regan or Bush trying something like this?
The U.S. now owns 10% of INTEL.
