I’m pretty sure I’m coming out ahead from my heat pump but I had an electric water tank before and I do pretty well out of taking advantage of cheaper periods, but this is really bonkers. All because levies are always added to electricity bills not gas. Govt literally subsidising carbon emissions.
There’s some very bad news hidden in the Ofgem price cap for January announced yesterday: the electricity to gas price ratio has jumped to 4.67, its highest level since before the energy crisis.
This is a big barrier to households adopting heat pumps in Britain, and threatens our climate goals

I’m pretty sure I’m coming out ahead from my heat pump but I had an electric water tank before and I do pretty well out of taking advantage of cheaper periods, but this is really bonkers. All because levies are always added to electricity bills not gas. Govt literally subsidising carbon emissions.
I’ve missed this feeling that only happens during Ashes series down under, of waking up, excitedly checking the cricket updates (nobody can say I’m not an optimist) and feeling immediate, deep despondency. Really sets you up for the day!

This is fascinating. I don’t think Trump is owning up to fascism here but he sees it as just a campaign attack line, not what Mamdani actually believes. Which is of course how Trump uses words himself. He doesn’t actually mean very much of what he says.

Seen a lot of chat that it was tactical voting that kept Reform out in Caerphilly, but looking at this it’s hard not to draw the conclusion the tactical vote was to keep Labour out. Will they learn anything?

Today Premier Park’s court case against me was mysteriously dropped, nearly TWO YEARS after my alleged parking offence. Great news for me, sure, but clearly their case never had any substance and I just waited them out. How many other people were bullied into just paying a bullshit charge?
