Interesting perspectives from #THEDigitalUK keynote panel about the HE sector being behind the digital curve due to underinvestment and legacy architecture. plus outdated pedagogy. Need to lobby suppliers to improve the systems they provide, and we should look more at collaboration/shared services.

The cease-fire deal between Israel and Hamas would begin with an initial phase lasting six weeks. Here's what to know.
What Does the Gaza Cease-Fire Deal Between Israel and Hamas Say?
In the first phase, 33 hostages and hundreds of Palestinian prisoners would be freed, and hundreds of trucks with humanitarian aid would be allowed into Gaza daily, a copy of the agreement says.

The Arctic conditions have obviously made it tough going for our runners, but it’s a photographer’s playground up on the Pennine Way.

As the team thaw out their boots and de-ice their cameras, here’s a selection of photos captured throughout day 1 of the Montane Winter Spine Races 2025.

NEW: Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States, has died at the age of 100.

He was elected in the 1976 presidential election for a single term. He enjoyed a remarkable post-presidency, based on philanthropy. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002.

Excellent panel session chaired by @stephmcgovern.bsky.social with the Vice-Chancellors of the Universities for North East England. The impact of the universities in the region is tremendous.

Great to be at the launch of the Universities for North East England. This collaboration will make a significant difference to the region and beyond. There is much to do, but we are better together.

About alt text for new Blueskyers:

In settings turn on "require alt text" under "accessibility." Then, whenever you post a photo, just add a short description of the photo. For people with low vision or who are blind, alt text is read by their screen reader, so they know what the image is. 🤩
