Awesome interview with @meredithmeredith.bsky.social and @michaelmoynihan.bsky.social: AI is NOT replacing your job, it's "degrading" it

They covered really important topics:
* #AI and labour displacement/power shift
* Plenty revenue, but not seeing profits yet
* Security and privacy & crypto wars
Looking for a convivial convo w me & Michael Moynihan covering everything from Snowden to Babbage to why Michael actually cares about privacy to our impoverished def of "AI" and the need to expand it?

Now Walgreens has stopped giving most workers paid vacation on Thanksgiving, Christmas and other major holidays.

Private equity takeovers are a disaster for workers, and customers.

Good reminder about the role of humans in an AI-Powered World by B. Schneier: "The enduring role for humans lies in making judgements, especially when values come into conflict. We can imagine machines will help; But the fundamental value judgments will likely remain our domain."

Good write-up by Rob, highlighting key takeaways from DX report:

- Non-AI bottlenecks still dominate
- AI is an accelerator, not a universal fix

Also a good reminder about this: "Automation amplifies efficiencies, but it also does the same for inefficiencies!"
DX's latest study into AI-assisted coding says the same as DORA's recent report - AI won’t save you from your (broken) engineering culture.

But it goes further: the biggest gains come from better ways of working, not AI.

Wrote up my analysis here 👇

Auch 💸 and that's going to be tough to turn around into a profitable business soon.
According to @theregister.com, Microsoft's latest SEC filing suggests OpenAI lost $11.5bn in Q3 2025

OpenAI reportedly did ~$4.3bn revenue in H1 2025, so perhaps $2-2.5bn/quarter. Would mean they're spending roughly 5-6x their revenue.
