I have come to consider, when interacting with -- Basically everyone, I try to remember that I have no idea what they are going through.
What has been clear to me more & more, as a teacher/friend/researcher/human, is that suffering comes for us all. It wears different faces, is exacerbated or alleviated by so many structures that support or fail us, & there’s so much standing in the way of saying “I’m hurting” in the present tense.
I'm having a rough go of it lately, and have been thinking: everyone is going through something, and you have no idea what it is, or how it's affecting them.

Quote post this is if you're going through something, and maybe we'll all realize that we aren't as alone as we feel right now.

Today we only had 5 riders. It's the Tuesday after a Monday holiday so a lot of people are starting the summer this week. The number of riders makes "mass start" a bit academic. To race, one has to man the lap counter and score, so only 4 on track, so we came up with another plan. All of us wanted to get in some laps, so we decided to do a couple drills and then see how we felt.

Yay! My first track day today, converted my bike back from winter/road configuration and did a few short efforts. If the rain holds off, the first omnium at @northeastvelodrome.bsky.social is Sunday morning.
I'm running a clinic for new riders Saturday #trackcycling #newhampshire

If judges weren't partisan (or required to at least try to treat every case seriously) I swear every act of Trump could be vacated merely on the grounds that they're uniformly arbitrary.

Dear supreme Court: this wasn't "foreign relations" until the president had a legal resident sent to a foreign prison. The illegal acts all took place on us soil.

Donald Trump is the perfect counter-example to the implicit assumption in current computer science that the ability to produce strings of words that appear on the surface to be a coherent response to a question does not constitute "intelligence" in any sense.

I'm really hoping the failure of the administration to clearly state who the doggie administrator is will encourage fed staff to reject requests until the authority of those requests is validated in writing.
