Your story gets to the heart of my criticism of Alberta, the O&G industry, even Carney's govt: there is plenty of evidence for peak oil/gas demand by 2030. That's a major risk factor for investing in 50-year hydrocarbon infrastructure.

What's changed in the past 15 years? What were the cost metrics in 2010 vs 2025?
That said, of course we have to choose between what we buy from others and what we can manufacture in Canada. But right now we're not even asking the question, just debating how to export more raw natural resources.
