Buses, like trains, should have delay repay. Not necessarily every bus - it's not really necessary for high-frequency urban services when the next one will be along soon. But when there's only one bus an hour, and the bus is late (or cancelled), there should be some redress.

Watched the first instalment of the new David Attenborough series, Kingdom, this evening. One of the recurring features is a family of wild dogs. If they go the whole six episodes without once mentioning them crying out in the night, I will be very disappointed.

So, what do we think of the new Taylor Swift album, then?

Football trivia. Tonight's match between Port Vale and Arsenal is the first domestic English game for more than 25 years where neither side is named after a place.

I don't think Angela Rayner's tax affairs are particularly morally culpable. Yes, she should have obtained professional advice, and yes, not doing so amounted to a breach of the ministerial code. So resigning was the right course of action. But...🧵1/6

This photo has started showing up on social media as if it's related to events of the past few days. It isn't. It's from the Vale of Evesham Asparagus Festival 11 years ago. The asparagus season traditionally starts on St George's day, hence the flag.

Apostrophe fans of the world. What are your thoughts on this?

Mildly amusing football fact. With the absence of East Anglian representation in the Premier League this year, the most easterly Premier League club is the slightly misleadingly (in this context) named West Ham.

Ought to be a popular opinion: AI is absolutely useless at giving you facts. AI is absolutely brilliant at generating content based on facts you give it. Getting facts still needs proper research. But once you've got the facts, writing an encyclopedia article about them is just about the prompt.

If the Pope dies soon (which, it has to be said, does look increasingly likely), what are the odds that Trump will declare himself the best candidate to replace him?

LinkedIn has just sent me an invitation to follow Lewis Hamilton.

Seems a bit pointless, really, I doubt I'd be able to keep up.

We're well into December now, so you're already hearing these on the retail and hospitality playlists. That means it's time to play Christmas Song Bingo.

I won't be participating in Whamageddon this year. I think it's time to call it a day on that one. It was fun for a while, but I get the feeling that too many people are taking it too seriously. And Last Christmas is a great song. It doesn't deserve that treatment. Just enjoy it.
