Haha! Quite.

I realise the fathomless irony of a British person saying this.

As a former goth it warms my heart to hear that it still survives! Question: It’s going to be hard to articulate this, but does it still feel like an outsider thing?

I’m still very much on the ‘this is a bad idea’ side, but there’s a way through. But, yeah - I often bemoan how fun all the Fortean realm felt in the 90’s, and how it’s directly lead to the insidiousness of the current era.

Who he loathed. I keep coming back to how benign the machinations of the outer gods are when it comes to what racism, sexism and homophobia has wrought. X-Files whilst not that, was an incredibly white series - there is an interesting path to follow there.

The only thing that giving me any reason to think it might work is that it’s being lead by Coogler. I believe that you’re both fans of Lovecraft’s work, like me - I’m currently of the belief that the only published work I want to read in Lovecraft’s universe is that created by the *many* peoples

I keep seeing stuff predicting that DIY culture is going to make a big comeback, which:
1. Amazing!
2. It feels correct as a backlash to the current moment
3. If it is, it’ll need to be driven by youth culture, but I can’t see signs of it (probably entirely because I’m ancient)

I really dislike the chip the city has on its shoulder about other places doing better, despite *gestures at it*. I’m slowly trying to convince my family we should move over to Manchester.

Having been a resident of Leeds for 44 years now, I wish that Leeds would learn a single lesson from Manchester about the importance of arts & culture in urban renewal.

Exactly. I’m continually astounded that a market so preoccupied with its niche business model knows next to nothing about its own niche business model.

‘Kids aren’t reading comics anymore! Marvel & DC should print on cheaper paper, and stock them next to cash registers like when I was a kid’

Meanwhile…
