Tell me, which of these images is genuine, and which was produced using AI?

Another issue of this triumph of modern poetry publishing landed on my doormat today. To call it a journal is to do it a disservice; the quality of its production equal in every way to that of the work between its covers. Kudos to @maxwallis.bsky.social for having the vision to make this happen.

Speaking of poetry open mics, I almost missed Lime Square Poets' session last night with Hannah Kiely. Thank God for phone reminders! Another great evening from our friends across the water in Ireland. I read my poem 'Parliament' – one I've aired at a few open mics since the summer.

For @victoriaspires.bsky.social's #promptcombo this week, something in the manner of #dreamlogic, albeit not from a human perspective. This comes from Release One of @subruria.com.

This do you, John?

The #promptcombo challenge this week (set by @victoriaspires.bsky.social) is on the theme of #ancestry. As luck would have it, I recently finished this little poem – a brief comment on my noticing that my late paternal grandmother's eyebrows had made their way, genetically, to my daughter's face.

This open letter to a plagiarist by @rustandmoth.bsky.social is an outstanding example of not only how to lay axe to the root of this pernicious literary theft but also how to appeal to the guilty party's better nature without dragging them, triggering a pile-on or destroying a chance at redemption.

May as well switch her over to this. Too late to change her.

As requested.

My kind of #promptcombo, Ju! Here's my #winged contribution.

This wrong 'un. Hold his pocket. #prisonbreak

What's that saying about fools and their money? 🙄

This sufficiently banal for @rfsmith.bsky.social's #promptcombo this week on the topic of #banality? I do hope so.

Even something as prosaic as hanging out laundry can be made poetic. Shared early drafts of this little thing on Twitter many moons ago. Today, I think it's finally finished.

And look ... they ALMOST coloured inside the lines. Our brave patriots.

From Jeanette Winterson's Substack. I still can't believe we live in a world where this needs spelling out. Anyone justifying Israel's slaughter of Palestinians is not to be trusted.

What happens when a 13-year-old boy trapped inside the body of a fifty-something 'man' is given too much money, power and ketamine.

Brush strokes of genius from Ben Jennings in @theguardian.com ...

Poem in which yes, it WAS essential for me to use a diaeresis diacritic over the 'e' like that actually, otherwise you lot might think one of my lines was a syllable short.

Thanks to all who fed back on this once upon a time on Twitter. Also to @victoriaspires.bsky.social, who saw it more recently.

Coming at @victoriaspires.bsky.social's #promptcombo a bit slant this time – the #woods here reduced to a single tree. Every release of @subruria.com contains a poem with a title stolen from Larkin. This was Release Three's poem. I suspect you have to be my age (or older) to appreciate its ending.
