I really wish @teamlabouruk.bsky.social would stop basing immigration policy based on what they read on X and the right wing press. In my experience it doesn’t reflect what regular working folk think.

A reminder that most teenagers are more tech savvy than the ministers creating legislation. In the car with my 14 yr old boy and his mates the day the restrictions came into effect, they could all explain how to get round them. Maybe it will stall younger children

Net migration fell almost 50% in the last year.
If Labour had held off a little longer, they might never have needed to go on a wild Reform-like attack on immigrants.
Too late now. We've all seen them do it.
Had no effect on Reform voters, but alienated many others.

I’m an open source proponent and love openness in general, but the quest to improve AI needs to respect copyrighted work and pay for value derived from it.
The full report by the Tony Blair Institute is out, in which they detail how copyright should be "rebooted" in the AI age. It reads like a big tech lobbying document. I hope they will be asked serious questions at its launch in London today.

I still like to own music on vinyl and CD, and am having fun buying 2nd hand CDs for a few quid each. Hard to believe used to pay £10-£15 for an album 20 years ago.
