today i think about the first poem i ever wrote as an adult:
A journal entry reads: “I wrote a poem this morning. I can’t figure out if it’s good or not. I’ll write it here anyway. We are from dust and to dust we shall return but not me not I No I shall fall from the sky And land upon the warm green grass And feel my fur against my back And purr and walk until I find a loving family to take me in And then I will never again Understand the words of men shouted in the street And I shall never sin”
