I've been unable to settle into my office downstairs, so I'm moving it to the attic. It's nice and quiet, and great for listening to the rain, but it's also a tip...

Unsolicited writing advice, no. 186:
Always try to be aware of how much you're telling the reader. Is it enough? Is it too much? Are you feeding them just the right amount, or are you overwhelming them with unnecessary detail? If in doubt, just ask yourself: "Why do they need to know this?"

Having writer friends is awesome. I got to have a few of mine over last night and it felt so good to just hang out with other people who get it.

Editing this morning from my favourite spot. The only thing that could make this more perfect is some freshly baked pain au chocolat...

We’re approaching the centenary of this monumental act in 2028. What would a meaningful anniversary look like to you? What should heritage organisations prioritise or showcase? We’d love to hear your thoughts. #EqualFranchise #PublicHistory #GenderHist
🗳️ #OTD 2 July 1928: The Equal Franchise Act received royal assent in the UK, granting all women over 21 the vote—regardless of property.

It gave women electoral equality with men, adding 5 million to the roll and making them the majority in the 1929 election. #VotesForWomen #Suffrage #GenderHist

I went to the park to film some water textures with a fancy ultra slomo camera, but got distracted by ducks, so here is some very wholesome content of ducklings having a great time chasing lil bugs in extreme 900fps slow motion:

The VHS player I was given actually works! Tested it by playing the opening of A Fistful of Dollars. It was like being a little kid again. I can't believe it.

A thing I didn't grok when I was younger: You can just... do stuff. Anyone can write a book-- just open a document or buy a composition book and go. If you want to try an art form, you can take a class, watch a YouTube video, or borrow the tools from the library. You don't need permission to play.
