was arrested and served a week in prison. Dora, obviously a very strong young woman emigrated to Australia before the start of the First World War, therefore never seeing the passage of women's suffrage where she married and lived until her death in 1976.

Another one of these to look at is women’s suffrage - whole lot of countries gave women the right to vote once the Bolsheviks did (who did it almost immediately in the wake of the October revolution)
It's kind of like how we only have Lincoln Center because American Aristocrats got very embarrassed at Soviet Arts funding

As a 27 year old she wouldn’t have been able to vote anyway, women’s suffrage was originally only granted only to property owning women over 30 years old, and extended only to 21 year olds 10 years later

Interesting reading about the history of feminism/suffrage and how ww would co-opt the Black narrative when it was advantageous and kinda fun/cool but then throw them under the bus or at the very least diminish them at the first opportunity
