From EEOB trick or treating in ‘19. The WH is the People’s House. It’s our collective heritage. All of us who walk its halls and meet in its rooms are but passing through — temporary stewards, with responsibility for respecting the past, serving the present, and preserving it for the future.

Still lots of friends on the inside across many LOs, especially NOS and NESDIS. Many others extorted into retirement. Tough for all — thanks for hanging in there. Will always show up for y’all.

“Reducing administrative burdens”…while exacerbating suffering and loss.

This Admin wants to decrease federal spending on disasters, not by reducing losses like thru the FFRMS, but by just refusing to pay for it. Others will still pay — increasing their financial, physical, and emotional burdens.

Glad to lend my voice (on my own time) to this rally in support of my former agency, NOAA. Really appreciate the strong support from my Congressman (and national treasure), Rep. Jamie Raskin @raskin.house.gov

My favorite section, as a geologist and a photographer. A beautiful erosional surface and cross-beds that take your eye down canyon.

I struggle mightily with the darkness of winter. Crave the sun, if not warmth. A beautiful [late] sunrise does a lot.

Geologist: Passed on making a cup to send w/ grad school classmates to the abyss in favor of getting a rift rock back. Made of beautiful obsidian (volcanic glass) on the exterior that’s somewhat fragile at surface pressure, but tough as heck basalt on the interior.

Winter is coming, but thankfully fall is not done quite yet. Along the Northwest Branch trail in Silver Spring, Md.

Still trying to figure out how this place works, and wanting more on my TL from those who love desert landscapes (SW US, but others globally are good, too!). So I’ll post some of my fave places and maybe the AI will help me find kindred spirits? #utah #arizona #blm #GrandStaircase #VermillionCliffs

First post... Science policy nerd. Former fed and White House #45 and #46 alum working on natural hazards... Still & always a public servant. Lover of public lands (esp. #GrandStaircase), the #Orioles, and #Caps. Hoping to see my hometown of DC and the nation survive (again) a tumultuous 4 yrs.
