The house across from me put theirs up on Nov 2nd, along with a wreath on the door. Dec 2nd would still be way too early. What are they at? They don't even have any young children they could use as an excuse. They'll be sick of looking at it by the end of the month!

What possible value could this add? We know what people walking and horses trotting look like and can very ably imagine that from the original photo. And without all the ridiculous, impossible elements it introduces. I'm sure they'll mean well but...

Sorry, I misread the situation. It's just if they keep getting in touch to say they're going to block you but don't, they very obviously want to be in contact with you, which is the opposite of blocking. People are the strangest.

That's hilarious. They're in desperate need of your attention. It reminds me of the time I unfollowed a poet because his posts were bitter misery & he emailed me wanting to know why I unfollowed him & to tell me it was a pity because he HAD been planning to ask me to read at something.

Ah, I didn't have time to read past the headline and found it really odd that someone would reuse the name of such a well known and loved book like that.

As someone who's lived alone for many years and loves it, I eye-rolled hard at this. I was going to say we should give the writer a break, thinking she must be a young one in her 20s. But she's 39! I've no patience for that over the top tone and cliches at that age.

This morning, lots of people turned up with their Bermese Mountain Dogs to say their goodbyes.

Did you see this the other day? I couldn't believe what I was reading.

bsky.app/profile/did:...
A chilling news story about council workers choosing to block a cycle lane with traffic signs at night, which resulted in the death of a cyclist who collided with it.
We've seen this sort of thing from the council so many times in Limerick. This is a stark warning of how bad the consequences can be.
Maurice Rice, 52, was cycling in to Sligo town on the night of 13 December 2023 when his bicycle collided with an 0.85m wide obstacle deliberately placed in a 1.2m wide cycle lane, to warn of malfunctioning traffic lights.

I can't be in anyway sanctimonious about not having at TV because of the amount of niche YouTube channels I've ended up following. I could tell you so much about water-bath V steam canning, keeping chickens in sub-zero Alaska, trimming cow hooves, how to build am off-grid cabin and on and on 😂
