After driving across the western US and scanning the radio dials I realized K-Love likely reaches more people than NPR. It was good to get back to Iowa to hear Iowa Public Radio.

We just spent a week in Portland. It's one of the nicest cities I've spent time in. Felt safe when we were downtown, folks were helpful with my wife who uses a walker. This Iowa guy was impressed.

At the hardware store today, the old guy training the new cashier told a couple guys I'm sure he knew, "it's good you bought this before Friday." When asked why he said,"your President is raising the price for that by $5." The interactions were entertaining.
